India-born, Toronto-based DJ Crimsen has dropped this summery deep House tune to perfectly coincide with the UK’s current winter heatwave. ‘Rooftop Sunset’ is hypnotic, with the slow opening piano notes fading in above a heavily electronic beat. Gentle pads sound like wind, while the sudden chords that fill the texture support the sunset on the skyscraper imagery that Crimsen is replicating. The progressive elements of the track allow it to move through styles and avoid too much repetition, with the exceptional production skill heard throughout giving pride of place to swirling basslines and perfectly placed filter sweeps. -Dan Peeke
